To be honest I'm not bothered about the qualifications as what she has written just made so much sense to me. I didn't pay huge amount of attention to her nutritional advice, although it does seem eminently sensible.

I really didn't mean to cause a massive debate in suggesting people read this book, just that the headstuff hit me so hard.

Each to their own, though!!!

Cheers Taty - just got home, having left down there about 6.20pm, got 25 minutes away and remembered I'd left all my clients books in the cupboard so we had to go back - was furious - and finally got home at 9.30pm. Have written out all my envelopes for theatre tickets for tomorrow and marked the maps, just going to sort out my bags

Taty - hope you've had a lovely day xx

More tomorrow ....

Am I too late? Happy birthday Taty, and hugs to Widge wherever you are hiding.

Funeral went as well as could be expected. Absolutely packed. I didn't stay for it - too vulnerable at the moment so just did the lead up and then went.

Youth were loopy tonight so distinctly hard work. But loveable at the same time - somehow!

Tomorrow I have final rehearsals for SUnday when the Bishop comes, and then Mum & Dad are coming.

Doing well this week. I have drunk the water - sort of. I have eaten well, no snacking and generally felt better. After discussions on here and other threads I gavent given up dairy but just reduced it drastically. I think i took liberties with the amounts It seems to have helped a bit this week. Let's hope it continues.

LOL - FootSoldier!!!!!!!! SHOCKED!!!

Did that accompany the "it's full of protein" line, too??!?!

This is a great reminder of how to use this WOE properly. I think so many of us have issues with food, and portions, that we sometimes see the "eat lots of fat" as a green light to go mad, then wonder why we don't lose. When even though this WOE is brilliant and by far the easiest to stick to, it still requires us addressing issues with food, and eating sensibly and in realistic portions without overly snacking.

I'm finding that upping my protein is keeping me full, too. I'm definitely getting out of the snacking habit.

Part of what appeals to me about this woe is not having to worry about measuring and weighing what I eat, as long as I stick to the "allowed" foods. I first did this in 2010, never once worried out portions size or quantity of fat, etc., and managed to get rid of 30lbs within 4 months - just by the way, if salad isn't drowning in dressing, I'm not eating it! I didn't however really move out of phase 1 and was extremely strict with myself. Last time I did find some phase 2 food made a huge difference to my weight loss. I'm not really a "snacker" so that wasn't too difficult. I am finding things a little more slow going this time but I am realistic enough to know that I am not being so strict and I only have myself to blame if my loss is small or not at all. I guess want I am trying to say is, I know different things work for different people, but if you stick to what is "allowed" and stay away from what is "not allowed" it will work.

I have always struggled with breakfast. I also tend to leave it until a little later and then I will have some cheese and ham, or maybe some cold sausages. At weekends I will cook bacon and eggs, etc. I know a lot of people on here recommend protein shakes but the ones I have tried make me gag!

It is a long weekend here and when I am not at work food always seems to be more of a challenge. I am really looking forward to a couple of days off though. Not had too much time off in the last year - I only get 15 days vacation a year, which I gather is quite generous for north America. I have however booked some time off in September to travel home to the UK for just over 2 weeks. Really looking forward to it. I just hope the weather is kind.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hmmmm, just been out for an Indian meal with some friends from work, i had saag bhajee and some chicken tikka but it tasted really sweet - thought I was being safe, but the spinach tasted sweet too. Very odd, am hoping it was all ok!

Busy w'end ahead, really looking forward to tomorrow, getting my highlights done, much overdue. Then I have the awkward catering to do for fussy family on Sunday, need to do all the housework, shopping and laundry in there too and take pup to the vet. Will need Monday off for a relaxing bit!

Happy weekends everyone, looks like this thread is slowing up rather? NN x

Just rushing to the kitchen now to grab the chilled bubbly and raise a glass for Taty's brithday.

Do you know, it's very funny to hear you all talk about mirrors and naked bodies. Because I quite like mine. It curves in all the right places and I feel really quite sexy. It's only when I put clothes on that I think I look rubbish!!! Haha, maybe I should become a naturist!!!

C I love what you said about loving your body. I think if we don't love our bodies to start with we don't stand a chance of giving them what they need to be fit and healthy.

Hope everyone is doing well - well done Hermie for JFDI and losing. It's so simple isn't it? Yet we all struggle so much. How is the exercise going Mrs T?

Yellow your post about N&I really made me laugh and I agree totally. The book is really well written to appeal to all aspects of our personalities I think. Wonder if it was on purpose? Probably!

I'm allowing myself a small Friday V&S and just about to have steak and salad for dinner.

Finished the Marissa Peer book today. I am actually going to go back to the beginning and read the headstuff bit again, it appealed to me so much. Also trying to download the audio content. Had to share a final quote with you that I read today about cheating or slipping up:

"Don't allow yourself to be totally derailed if you eat one biscuit. After all, you wouldn't empty your bank account if you overspent slightly, would you?"

So very true!!
